My Farm Boys

Josh Introducing Sawyer to the horses
 Picking apples on the farm
Josh getting instructions from his daddio
 Josh picking the high apples
Duke was enjoying his afternoon snack too
Sawyer was a content little guy just hangin out
Josh & Saws were checking out the old green machine, sizing up what it was gonna take to get it out of the old barn
A tow rope and a 4-Wheeler did the trick!
Our old Blast From The Past!
Josh found an old sign that we had gotten from a trip to a 4th of July fireworks show in Tuscaloosa during our first year of marriage. So many memories in that green car.
This is Sawyer past out after our little ATV ride around the farm. He was worn out from a day full of activities!

This past weekend our little family loaded up the car and took a road trip up to Josh's old homestead to hang out with his parents and niece, Corrine for a couple of days.  There is always something going on on the Smalley farm, and it was so much fun to introduce Sawyer to all of the things that his daddy grew up with as a boy.  I know he's still too young to really capture everything right now, but it was neat to watch his expressions when he saw things for the first time.  I think his favorite part of the trip was definitely getting to ride on the "'Mule" with his Paw Paw around the farm. He was such a content and happy little boy to just sit back and ride with the wind blowing through his hair.

MY favorite part of the trip was getting to go out (alone) with my main man and ride the old back roads of Mentone in the green machine.  This is definitely one of my favorite past times with Josh.  While we were dating in college we put in days, weeks, even months of work into getting that car in to good shape again. Afterwards, Josh and I brought it down to Auburn and would always ride around campus and in the national parks on the weekends, and then in Tuscaloosa once we were first married. And don't forget, it was our "get away" vehicle on our wedding day!  So many memories we have of that old car, and now we are trying to figure out a way to get it down to Birmingham to carry on it's legend, and one day pass it down to our first born son!

All in all we had a blast hanging out on the Smalley farm.  I always enjoy going there and getting to see a part of my husbands past.  It reminds me of some of the reasons I first fell in love with him. I know he is going to raise our son (or sons) to be the wonderful man that he has become, and I'm so thankful to be a part of that!

Sawyer Turns 10 Weeks!

Our little monkey is 10 weeks old today! It's so hard to believe how fast time has flown by since Sawyer was born.  As you can tell from these pictures, he is quite a little character and keeps us entertained!  His little personality is just blooming more and more every day! We are so thankful for our boy:-)

Talking Sawyer

Sawyer having an afternoon discussion with his daddio.

Our "Little Man"

The boy of a millions facial expressions; that's what my dad always called Sawyer, and he was definitely right! He cracks me up on a daily basis with his faces.
 Such a sweet boy!
Sawyer loves his daddy! So thankful to have Josh home 3 days a week!  Sawyer gets a little extra time to bond with his dad, and I get a little extra time too:-)
Bath time has become quite a fun event in this little mans life! He's really starting to enjoy it, and I LOVE how his hair curls up when it gets wet!  I hope that one day it stays this way permanently:-)
 Sweet Sweet face!
We had a fun little visit last week with Josh's brother's little girl, Corrine.  She had Sawyer cracking up during their photo shoot.
Sweet cousins!

I thought it was time to post some more up-to-date pictures of Sawyer on here.  He is growing and changing so much every day it's hard to keep up with him, but he is quite the handsome little man!  "Little Man" has become my "pet name" for him because isn't that exactly what he looks like? A little man?  With all of that hair, it's hard to believe he is only 2 months old! I was hoping to wait until after his first birthday before we cut his hair, but I'm afraid there's no way we'll make it that long!  It is now a good 2 inches over his ears and growing longer every day!

Some of the ways Sawyer has developed in his first two months of life: He is smiling and cooing A LOT these days, especially in the mornings! He's so much more alert, and loves to watch and study his surroundings (I can already tell he is a very smart boy, and hoping he's got his daddy's brains:-)).

He is really starting to get the "babywise" schedule I've been working on with him down pat.  I think this schedule has helped contribute to him being a happier baby, and oh yeah, sleeping better at night!  He's up to a steady 5 to 6 hour sleep stretch at night, sometimes even longer than that!  I've dropped one of his nightly feedings, so he is down to only one feeding during the night, unless of course he chooses to sleep on through it in which case I definitely let him!

This little man is such a sweet joy in our lives, and a perfect addition to our family!  I cannot imagine our lives without him now that he's here, and am so incredibly thankful that the Lord has allowed Josh and I to be a part of his life.  We're learning and enjoying how to be parents every single day.  We make plenty of mistakes, but that's all part of the process!
